LATVIAN ATHLETES FOR THE FRIENDS PAVEMENT OF THE GARDEN OF DESTINY

In 19th of June 2014 at 17:00 the team of creators of the Garden of Destiny, representatives of Association of Latvian Sports Veterans (Seniors) and Latvian Olympic Committee and sports federations, along with well known Latvian sports personalities and sports friends to get acquainted with the idea of sanctuary and the implementing bodies of the project, keeping in mind and heart brightest moments of our sports history and people who help us stay proud and strong.

For the project to materialize not only representatives of different professions have expressed their support by having a cobblestone in the pavement as journalist of Latvia Television Jānis Geste, musicians Aija Andrejeva, Kārlis Kazāks un Jānis Holšteins Upmanis, conductor Ints Teterovskis, actors Sigita Jevgļevska, Uldis Dumpis un Varis Vētra, politician Artis Pabriks and Ilze Jurkāne with her family, Aina Poiša, Jolanta Gulbe Paškeviča, Deniss Paškevičs, Elita Patmalniece un Žaklīna Cinovska, but Latvian athletes as well, including ice hockey players of Riga Dinamo team, Jānis Lūsis, Voldemārs Lūsis, Kristians Lūsis, Aigars Apinis, Aldis Šūpulnieks, Daiga Dadzīte, Raimonds Bergmanis, Dainis, Martins un Tomass Dukuri and many others.

During the collection of donations, all June 2014, cobblestones with the names mentioned above will be displayed for viewing in Latvia Sports Museum. Everyone is welcome to visit the exhibition dedicated to the Friends Pavement of the Garden of Destiny, to participate in the project and to get acquainted with the Museum’s exhibitions that show brightly the connection of past, present and future.
